1. Information We Collect
When you use MakeOG, we may collect the following information:
- Account information: email address when you create an account via magic-link authentication
- URLs submitted: the web addresses you submit for OG image generation
- Generated images: the OG images produced by the Service, stored for your access and reuse
- Usage data: generation counts, timestamps, IP address hashes (we never store raw IP addresses), and request metadata
- Payment information: billing details processed securely through Stripe; we do not store credit card numbers
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Enforce usage limits and prevent abuse (rate limiting, SSRF protection)
- Process payments and manage subscriptions through Stripe
- Communicate with you about your account, service updates, or support requests
- Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve image generation quality
3. Third-Party Services
MakeOG relies on the following third-party services to operate:
- Anthropic (Claude AI): processes webpage content to generate brand analysis and SVG designs; submitted URL content is sent to Anthropic's API
- Stripe: handles payment processing and subscription management; subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy
- Fly.io: hosts the application infrastructure in the United States (IAD region)
- Google Fonts: font files are fetched server-side for image rendering; no user data is sent to Google
4. Data Retention
Generated images and associated metadata are retained for as long as your account is active. Usage tracking data (generation counts) is retained for billing and analytics purposes. If you delete your account, your personal data and generated images will be removed within 30 days. Anonymous usage records (IP hashes) are stored in-memory and reset when the server restarts.
5. Cookies and Session Data
MakeOG uses session cookies to maintain your authentication state after signing in. These are essential cookies required for the Service to function. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or cross-site tracking technologies.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export: request a machine-readable export of your data
- Restriction: request that we limit processing of your data

7. Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption for all traffic, hashed IP addresses (never stored in plain text), secure session management, and private IP filtering (SSRF protection) on all outbound requests. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
MakeOG is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
